Jason
Assistant Pastor
Jason moved to Valencia County in 1990 and attended Los Lunas schools graduating from Los Lunas High School. Surrounded by bad influences in his life and needing direction, he joined the US Marines and served and as an Infantry Sergeant and Instructor. He served for four years and during this time he married his bride Jennifer. Jason was honorably discharged and pursued a civilian law enforcement career He was not saved, but Jennifer being a Christian faithfully encouraged him to attend church every Sunday. After attending a Christian play, he concluded that being a “good person” wasn’t meeting God’s standards. It was then that he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in March 2001. He attended and served at Calvary Albuquerque until he returned to Valencia County and began attending Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley in 2005. In 2006 he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Christian Theology. Over the course of the next 12 years, while continuing to serve in law enforcement (rising to the rank of sergeant), he continued to serve as a deacon and led the safety and security ministry, bible college, Cops for Christ, the Marriage Ministry and Men’s Bible Studies. In 2017 he retired and began serving fulltime in ministry as the Assistant Pastor at CCRGV. He now leads the Men’s Ministry Bible Study and oversees the staff, facilities, and all operations at CCRGV. His wife Jennifer serves alongside him and volunteers at Canon Christian Academy supporting their four wonderful children.
