Shaun was born in Silver City, spent his childhood in Los Angeles, and his teen years in Sandia Park. His childhood was a smorgasbord of religions. He was trained in transcendental meditation, spent six years schooling in a Bahai commune, and experimented in the occult. In college his grandfather introduced him to a body-building cowboy who shared the gospel with him in 1981. While in college, he accepted Jesus as Savior, met and married his beloved Dorothy and they had their first child Christopher.

The young family moved to Denton, Texas so Dorothy could pursue her master’s degree in Counseling. While there, they grew in their faith through expository Bible teaching at Denton Bible Church. After having their second son Michael, they felt called to return to New Mexico. They attended Calvary Albuquerque for a short while and then moved to Living Water’s Fellowship in Los Chavez where they entered the ministry in 1999. In 2004 they came over to Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley to serve in the youth ministry. Over the years Shaun has served as Children’s Pastor, Youth Pastor, Worship Leader, as well as leading missions, teaching in the Bible College and now as Headmaster of Canon Christian Academy. Dorothy teaches middle school math at the Academy while discipling young women. Shaun and Dorothy have always felt called to minister to young people and love being able to share God’s Word with the next generation.
